Musical term 'KS' with stringed instruments?

ok i downloaded the Garritan Personal Orchestra vst plugin, and it is AMAZING. But i was just wondering, since i don't know too many orchestral arrangment music terms, what does "KS" stand for?
LIke I made a kit with 'chello KS combo" acting as the bass section, and it plays really low and trills, like when a violin plays very quickly in a horror movie. I guess it doesn't technically 'trill,' but it does strum very quickly and sounds very dark.
