How to catch up to high school violin playing?
Im a junior in high school and really want to learn the violin. Problem is, i have no former experience, i cant read music very well, and my violin is missing a D string:) I want to be in Orchestra by the 2nd semester of my junior year (at least) or definatly by my senior yr. Is it even possible to catch up to their level if i take private lessons? Any tips you could pass on?
Yeah definately. I started in 5th grade, but my junior high had a beginners orchestra. Still, if you take private violin lessons, it shouldn't be a problem getting in. Make sure that you also have experience with playing with other people, so try to see if you can join an outside of school orchestra or try ensemble with people. Good luck! You're gonna love it
