Piano for Beginners
Are you interested in learning the piano? Unlike more difficult instruments (violin), piano is a great instrument to learn and can be one of the easiest. It's great because it is so versatile. It can be a solo instrument aswell as being able to accompany any other instrument, either in a band or more classical environment.
Learning any instrument can be a scary prospect and even more so if you have never learned to read music or feel that you are too old. Despite these factors, many people are still full filling their dreams of learning to play piano. So why is piano one of the best instruments to learn?
On top of the things I mentioned earlier there are also more basic and fundamental reasons.
1. No difficult technique to master – compared to something like the violin
2. It's already in tune so its ready to be played ‘in-tune'.
3. It can be played in any situation and in any genre.
Do you feel that you are too old to attempt to learn the piano? Let me try to explain something that may surprise you and why there are advantages to ANY age in learning.
We all know that children have the ability to learn and learn quickly. This is because a child has many, many connections in their brain which allows them to store massive amounts of information.
From being an infant to reaching early adulthood we gradually loose these connections and by 16 we only have a small fraction of the number we had as an infant. These connections are lost as we start building our personality and the way we think about particular things. This is why we have so many in the first place – in order to loose them when we start to become who you see in the mirror every day.
What advantages do you have as an adult then?
You have the advantage of experience – not experience in learning necessarily, but the ability to understand HOW to learn. A child may take in information naturally but they wouldn't understand how to teach themselves. You have the ability to teach yourself in the most productive way possible and all you need to know are the best online piano program to teach you that way.
Being able to play the piano gives you that musical world you are seeking, where you can escape from modern life and think of nothing else except the music YOU are playing.
