Maybe one of you tried the Violin Master Pro Course By Eric Lewis? My sister want to learn how to play on violin and I'm looking for online courses for her. My sister and I bought the Violin Master Pro course last year ago and I must say that for me this was a great choice.
Firstly, Manhattan String Quartet’s Eric Lewis (the creator of the course) is a professional violinist. You’ll basically have a professional violinist for a personal violin teacher.
His Violin Master Pro course consists of different lessons and most important are the video lessons. in this lessons you will shown how to play like a master and Eric Lewis is pretty good at explaining the how and why of his techniques.
The video quality is good and you can easily watch them full screen.
However, they are a bit slow to load so instead of watching them on the site you better download them and watch them later. Especially since you will want to get back to most of them quite often.
I also liked the ebook or call it a set of 29 PDF files that cover everything in the videos and some more. This makes it easy to review the stuff you learned and will get you ready to practice the scales and arpeggio’s that are also included.
Another thing that you will find in the Violin Master Pro course is a collection of violin songs (music sheets) ranging from bluegrass to Irish folk music so you should find something to your taste you‘d like to learn. After all, at the end of the course you should be ready to pick up any violin song (OK, maybe not Paganini’s fastest pieces) and learn it by yourself.
One thing that I found no real use for is the membership to a collection of beats and ‘sounds’ that Eric Lewis also provides in his Violin Master Pro course. In my opinion there are better ways to play along with other musicians.
Anyhow, the Violin Master Pro course was really helpful for me and the best part in this program is that you will have unlimited access to the violin lessons, and it will cost you less than the cost of just one violin lesson from a local violinist who probably has nowhere near the level of expertise that Mr. Lewis does.
