I have to sell a violin, but i've tried ebay and mocca, but i have no response? need advice?

its a 3/4 violin, in fairly good condition. i've tried ebay, mocca, etc. but no one seems interested? i need alternatives to sell this violin, other than newspaper classifieds. please help
maybe like putting up flyers (although it seems so extreme)

Check your local yellow pages for music stores and violin dealers. Often they will sell instruments on consignement for a percentage of the final sale. Keep in mind that if their business is selling instruments, they'll probably get more for the instrument than you could on Ebay or craigslist; so their cut shoudn't hurt too much.

Another option: If you know of any local elementary schools with violin programs, contact the violin teacher to see if they have any students who might be interested in the instrument. I taught in the public schools for many years, and had numerous requests such as these. If the instruments were of good quality, I would pass on the info. to people who I thought could benefit, and sometimes a sale would take place. In a couple of instances I came across people who wanted to sell quality student instruments at really good prices that even I couldn't pass up, and I purchased them myself using the school budget to use in the classroom for less privileged kids.
