Violin Shifting Keys? Help Please.?
Could anyone send me a picture of the shifting keys for violin on the E-string?
It would be even more helpful if you could tell me the what the high notes are in this piece of music and where my fingers go. xP

The notes, starting 2 bars before D where it says "cresc.," are:
C# D Eb / F# G A / Bb
The printed fingerings suggest you play the first two notes in 5th position, and the next five in 7th position, ending with an extension. If that's a 1 marked over the G two bars earlier (can't read it, but I think so) that puts you in 3rd position already, so the shift to 5th, playing the C# with your first finger, isn't too hard. It will take some practice to get it in tune. Same with the shift to 7th, playing the Eb with your first finger.
The high notes on the next line seem to be mostly in 4th position, with shifts down to 3rd in the first and last groups where the notes are A B C# D. This works well but if you have trouble playing in tune in even-numbered positions (I do), it can all be played in 3rd and 5th, or even all 3rd if you're confident about your extension to the E (remember it's an E natural this time).
Schubert's 8th symphony, isn't it, the "Unfinished." Enjoy it.
