Which violin strings should I get?

I need ideas for things to ask for for Christmas and I was thinking about getting some new strings. My violin was about $900 dollars give or take a bit so it's nothing special. I started reading about different brands of strings and I've narrowed it down to either Dominant strings or Obligato. I'm leaning towards the Obligato because I prefer a warmer, richer sound and I also read that the dominant E string sounds horrible. I have no experience with strings, I don't even know what strings I have now because I was pretty young when I got this violin and never thought to ask. Does anyone have an opinion on strings? What are the best in your opinion? Thanks!

No one else can help you because strings respond differently on different instruments. Dominants respond quite well on a wide variety of instruments and Obligatos can tone down a bright violin. Many, if not most, violinists don't use an E string from the same set as the other strings. The Kaplan Solutions E is quite good, and there are other E strings to choose from. Don't feel like you have to use a complete set of the same type.
