FREE Online Violin learning vids?
I have a violin in layaway right now but will be getting it out soon and need some vids to learn how to play it. I had a guitar but my cousin has a violin and she let me play it and I LOVE it now. Newayz I NEED FREE ONLINE VIOLIN LESSON/LEARNING VIDEOS!!!!!!!!! And btw it has to be for beginners or at least really easy. All I know is what a violin is I know nothing else. Not even notes or finger placement or bow placement. PLZ HELP!!!!!!!
Congratulations! I would recommend that you find a teacher to help get you started off on the right foot. There are so many intricate techniques to master and it can become very frustrating if you try on your own. Not to mention painful. If you are not holding the instrument correctly it can be painful (pinched nerves, crick in your neck, etc.) and can lead to long term problems/damage. i.e. tendinitis, carpal tunnel, tennis elbow. If you are concerned about the cost of lessons then consider calling your local college or high school music directors and ask if they could recommend any violin students who would be interested in teaching. Trust me. It won't be a waste of money and you'll actually save time by learning how to do it correctly than if you learn incorrectly and have to relearn.
I have played for 18 yrs. and I still take lessons every week. Most professional musicians I know still take lessons every now and then. Remember to practice every day. Regular practice time is key. 20 min. a day every day is better than 5 hrs. one day a week. Good luck and happy practicing!
