Alternative violin tunings?
What alternative, popular 5-string violin tunings are there to use? More specifically, i've just started learning to play the violin, i have a 5-string, and i'm taking the same approach i used to learn the guitar; - learn a bunch of songs i like and get good overall by practicing them.
Most of the songs i want to learn are by a band named Hurt. Their violin-dominant songs include Danse Russe, Fighting Tao, World Aint Right, Pandora, and Cold Inside.
For anyone who knows their violin, i need to know what tunings these songs are most probably in. World Aint Right in particular has a low Bb, two semitones below standard 5-string tuning.
Anyone who can help is welcomed for their two cents. Thanks.
